Is the Australian Government living up to its environmental obligations? Green Peace says no and its members claim it is not walking the speak on the Kyoto Treaty obligations, but is that genuinely the case? Our On the internet Think Tank has seen a massive amount of work, investigation and implimentation of environmental oversight and “genuine” programs that make sense and solve troubles in Australia.
When we asked environmentalists what sort of “lip service” would they say that the politician podium pushers are promoting that they actually have no intention of ever doing, we wanted to know if they could name a couple of? We told them that perhaps they could enlighten our group? We asked them if they may give us a few examples of the Australian Government by-passing environmental necessities, that would be of interest.
They told our Feel Tank that the Australian Government only spent about 10% on environmental in their Spending budget that they did on military defense.
Of course we ought to recognize that without checking the numbers the ratios are legitimate, if you do not shield your nation, you have none, therefore environmental are irrelevant. The Australian Government is spending 463 million in Climate Study alone over four years, which was also not used in the figures. This raises the ratio substantially to 18% of the expenditures for their environmental obligations.
It is usually assumed that Australia is on the leading edge in forward innovative environmental technologies in contrast to nations such as China with dead zones of 280 square miles, dare anybody to eat anything they can catch off the coast of Shanghai or Beijing. Some accuse the Australian Government for not setting emission targets low sufficient and claim the carbon trading scheme is worthless and but both these problems are not accurate.
Australia has emission targets to be implimented and employing free-marketplace principles for CO2 emissions makes sense.
Furthermore Clean Coal Technologies are forth coming. Coal is a very good source of energy and the infrastructure is in location and Australia has lots of it. When the environmentalists challenged us as to specific “examples of where Australia is observed as leading in environmental technologies” we were pleased to comply and the list took us much less than 10 minutes to total, so it is safe to say there are a lot more:
Solar,
Agriculture pollution run-off,
Wind,
Ocean wave energy,
Nuclear,
Cleaning up rivers,
Water conservation,
Lightweight materials,
Architectural designs,
Coatings,
Clean coal technologies,
Barrier reef aid,
Biodiversity,
Desalination,
Landscape water retention,
Fishery replenishing,
Migrating bird wet land mitigations and restoration,
Fish ladders,
Anti-dust programs,
Beach soil errosion programs,
Air High quality stardard increases for both CO2 and SO2,
Recycling is up some 16% in a single decade
Banning of numerous kinds of fishing
Antartica treaties for the environment
You see those who criticize the Australian Government on their Environmental Policy are problematic and hurt the forward progression of environmentalism. Australia is doing a fine job and better each year. Believe on it, stay reality based.
